Google and MPEG-LA Kiss and Make Up

Google_MPEG-LAThe search giant and MPEG-LA, a patent pool packager (who doesn’t love alliteration?), have reached an agreement that will allow Google to license its VP8 video compression technology, thus side-stepping a potentially costly legal battle. While this removes one roadblock for Google and VP8, H.264 still stands alone atop the video codec mountain.
